Recently, the “enhanced gravity deep water net cage” representing the technological level of Guangdong’s new generation gravity net cage has been deployed underwater near Shangchuan Island in Jiangmen Taishan.
Unlike the self elevating truss type net cage, which is a “giant” in deep-sea aquaculture, the net cage launched this time has a circumference of 90 meters, a total of 30, and is placed in waters with a depth of about 20 meters. It has strong wind and wave resistance, high safety, and can be promoted and applied on a large scale, making it the easiest aquaculture facility for fishermen to participate in.
Compared to conventional gravity net cages, the “enhanced gravity deep water net cage” has increased its wind and wave resistance by more than 40%, achieving a deep integration of professional marine engineering technology and marine aquaculture technology. With this equipment, the construction of modern marine pastures in Guangdong has further accelerated.
